Can I stay with my child?
Yes! We encourage you to be with your child as much as possible. Parents are an important part of helping a child feel comfortable. We have provided a place for you to sleep so you can be with your child at all times. Parents who have a child in the Pediatric ICU, are provided a place to sleep in our parent lounge in the PICU, just a few steps from your child’s room.
Can my child’s sibling stay with him/her if I need to leave?
Brothers and sisters can visit any time with a parent. If you need to leave the hospital, please take the visiting child with you. Older siblings (18 and over) may stay without a parent present.
I have another child who is breastfeeding, can I bring her?
We provide family-focused care and will support your family through this hospitalization. If you have a child who is breastfeeding, please feel free to bring her with you to the hospital. We will provide a crib in your child’s room. The child must remain with you at all times.
What about bottles and diapers?
We are happy to supply all bottles and diapers while your child is a patient in the hospital. If your child has special needs, please let your nurse know.
