A physician with specialized training in pediatric intensive care medicine, called a pediatric
intensivist, supervises the care of the nearly 200 children admitted to the unit every year. A
team of pediatric specialists
is available to provide care in the areas of hematology-oncology,
cardiology, behavioral pediatrics, gastroenterology, genetics, infectious diseases, neonatology,
nephrology, neurology, pulmonology, rehabilitation, and various pediatric surgical areas.
