Pediatric Hospitalist Service
Physicians may also admit their patients to the pediatric hospitalist service at St. John's Children's
Hospital. Our hospitalist program is a collaborative effort between St. John's and SIU School of Medicine
pediatric division faculty. It ensures your patient has round-the-clock access to a pediatrician.
SIU School of Medicine pediatric residents assist Hospitalists with patient care. A faculty physician
is the attending of record. The faculty physician will see the patient daily and record a note in the
medical record.
Referring physicians are contacted regularly about the hospital course
of treatment and provided with a discharge summary.

Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units
Pediatric intensivists and neonatologists from SIU School of Medicine are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
