Volunteers who would like information via email instead of or in addition to "snail" mail, should email Maryam Moustoufi. I would also be interested in knowing if you or someone close to you has been touched by breast cancer. My heart has been warmed by the stories that have been shared with me.
Shawl Requirements
There are really only three requirements—Items should be soft, washable and leave easy access to the arms and neck area.
Colors—Some women have been “pinked out,” as my daughter Leila once put it. Therefore, use whatever color you desire. Women with breast cancer are as diverse as the colors of yarn you can find.
Patterns—Feel free to use any patterns you would like to use. Some people are making caplets that slip over the head yet leave the arms free for IVs. Others are making oversized scarves or stoles (24” by 76”), triangular shaped shawls or bed jackets. Others are making no-sew shawls out of fleece.
