Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) is the alliance of premier hospitals for children which is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds for 170 children’s hospitals across North America. |
| • |
Locally, CMN benefits St. John’s Children’s Hospital in partnership with SIU School of Medicine. |
| • |
The 170 premier hospitals affiliated with CMN help 17 million kids each year. |
| • |
One hundred percent of the money raised goes directly to programs for children in our area. None of the money is sent to national headuqarters and none is spent on administrative costs. |
| • |
Nationally, CMN has raised more than $2.2 billion for hospitals providing children’s health care. |
| • |
Since 1986, CMN has helped raise more than $6.6 million for children in central Illinois. |
| • |
Hospitals and medical facilities associated with CMN treat children with all types of afflictions--cancer, heart and muscular diseases, cerebral palsy, AIDS, and accident and trauma victims. |
| • |
CMN hospitals treat 5 million children each year; even with an effort of such magnitude, there are still 7 million children that go without adequate medical care. |
| • |
With the help of CMN, St. John's Children's Hospital, in partnership with SIU School of Medicine, treat more than 50,000 area children each year. |
| • |
CMN hospitals provided $2.5 billion in charity care last year alone. |

It costs these same hospitals $640 million just to maintain their life-saving equipment, let alone purchase new equipment. |
