  • END students must earn a grade of C or better in all required END and HLT courses to remain in the program.

Prospective students should also have a high degree of professionalism, problem-solving skills and a willingness to work in direct contact with a variety of patients.

Admission Requirements

Application and admission to the END Technology program is conducted on a limited enrollment basis and is a separate procedure from application and admission to LLCC. Applications are processed throughout the year. The first eight qualified applicants who satisfactorily complete the application process are accepted for the upcoming class, which starts each year in June. Once the class is filled, applications will continue to be processed for the alternate list and/or the following academic year’s class.

Interested candidates should submit to St. John’s Hospital:

  • A completed application form, essay and fee.
  • Official high school and college transcripts (if applicable).
  • Three professional letters of recommendation from employers and/or instructors.

Once the above information has been received, the applicant will be notified to set up:

  • Job shadowing with an END Technologist.
  • A personal interview.

In addition to the above requirements, applicants will be scored in scholastic ability, goals statement, and evidence of maturity, emotional stability, work experience and personal interview.

Once the above activities have been scored, successful applicants will be notified to complete the following for final acceptance:

  • Submit a $100 non-refundable deposit/lab fee.
  • A health assessment performed at the student’s expense submitted prior to May 1st.  This includes documentation of immunizations or proof of immunity by titer.
  • A criminal background check performed at the student’s expense.
  • Drug screen performed at the student’s expense (effective 1/1/09).

Please note:
A history of felony convictions or substance abuse may adversely affect your ability to gain employment or take licensing exams in the medical professions.  We encourage you to consider your personal history when making appropriate career choices.

If problems arise with the results of either the criminal background check or the drug screening, students will not be permitted to attend the clinical portion of the program which then results in program non-completion.
