Academic Requirements

  1. High school cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 or rank in upper 40 percent of graduating class.  OR
  2. GED composite score of at least 225 (2250) with no individual score below 45 (450). 
  3. Completion of at least one year of high school science or biology or college equivalent with a minimum grade of C.
  4. Completion of one year of high school science or biology or equivalent with a minimum grade of C.  Completion of one chemistry course is strongly recommended.
  5. Satisfactory oral and written communication skills.  Applicant must be able to score well enough on the placement test from LLCC to enter 100 level English course.
  6. Adequate physical and emotional health to carry out required tasks of a respiratory therapist.
  7. Completion of HLT 205 Human Anatomy and Physiology or equivalent with a minimum grade of “C” recommended.
