Children's Hospital radiothon to air November 16 - 18
SPRINGFIELD 103.7 WDBR is partnering with the Children's Miracle Network for a radiothon
to raise funds for St. John's Children's Hospital. The WDBR Cares for Kids Radiothon, presented
by CEFCU, will air November 16 and 17 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and November 18 from 8 a.m. to
3 p.m. on WDBR 103.7 FM. The station will broadcast live from St. John's Children's Hospital
in the lobby of the Carol Jo Vecchie Women and Children's Center.
Radio personalities Dave Daniels and Dina Michaels will host the radiothon. They will talk to
families whose children have overcome significant medical challenges with help from St.
John's Children's Hospital and SIU School of Medicine. They will also interview staff about
the advanced technology and services available at St. John's Children's Hospital. Local
businesses that have raised funds through recent events and activities will present
checks to benefit the children's hospital. The public is invited to stop by or call
(217) 544-KIDS to make donations. Children's Miracle Network t-shirts and
other merchandise will be available for purchase.
Children's Miracle Network raises money for children's programs, equipment and
research at St. John's Children's Hospital and SIU School of Medicine. All money raised
locally
on behalf of CMN stays in the community.
St. John's Children's Hospital combines the faculty resources of SIU School of Medicine with
the pediatric facilities and services of St. John's Hospital. It was recognized for membership in
October 2005 by the National Association for Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions
(NACHRI). The Children’s Hospital Web site is www.sjchildrens.org
