Strike Out Stroke with St. John’s Hospital and the Springfield Sliders
SPRINGFIELD – On Saturday, July 24, St. John’s Hospital will team up again with the Springfield Sliders to “Strike Out Stroke.” For each ticket purchased at the gate, $1 will be donated to St. John’s Hospital Stroke Center. The Garrison Group will also donate $50 to the Stroke Center for every strikeout during the game. All proceeds will support the 3rd annual St. John’s Hospital Stroke Retreat being held at the Chiara Center in Springfield, October 1 – 3.
The first 500 fans attending Saturday’s game will receive a free oven mitt featuring stroke awareness tips. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. After the game, kids will be allowed to run the bases against Children’s Hospital mascot CJ & Joey. Strike out Stroke night is part of St. John’s Safe at Home health education initiative with the Sliders.
The Stroke Center at St. John’s is certified by The Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. For more information about the Stroke Center at St. John’s Hospital, visit www.st-johns.org/stroke.
