Sajida Ahad, MD, is the medical director of the Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery. Dr. Ahad is fellowship-trained in bariatric and laparoscopic surgery and surgical education. She completed her residency at Mayo Clinic and was fellowship trained at the University of Washington. She is an assistant professor of general surgery at SIU School of Medicine.

Her clinical Interests are:
• Minimally invasive surgical techniques
• Gastric bypass surgery
• LAP-BAND® surgery

Her office is located in the SIU Surgical Clinics building on St. John's campus.
