AthletiCare at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield

Orthopedic Surgeon Aaron Humphreys, MD; Jennifer Charles, RN; Jessica Ball, Athletic Trainer; and Justin Tammany, Director of Rehabilitation Services.

After serving patients in the Montgomery/Macoupin counties for 12 years, AthletiCare is now bringing its sports medicine and performance program to St. Francis Hospital and serving Litchfield, Gillespie and Mt. Olive high schools. In a partnership with the high school, AthletiCare athletic trainers and staff will be providing training, prevention and rehabilitation services.

Staff from AthletiCare - Litchfield will be present at many sporting events within the two counties. Parents and athletes are encouraged to ask AthletiCare staff any questions about sports medicine and the services offered.

Justin Tammany, Physical Therapist and Director of Rehabilitation Services
Justin oversees the daily operations of AthletiCare at St. Francis Hospital in addition to his duties as Director of Rehabilitation Services. Justin has a great interest in sports medicine and has experience successfully rehabilitating athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional level.

He has completed continuing education courses with the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society and Major League Baseball.

Fun Fact: Justin was a letter winner in baseball at Greenville College.

Jessica Ball, Athletic Trainer
Jessica’s role at AthletiCare at St. Francis Hospital is to provide athletic training, prevention and rehabilitative services to Litchfield, Mt. Olive and Gillespie High Schools. She is available to provide assessment and recommendation to other injured area athletes on an as-needed basis. As an athletic trainer, she is certified and licensed by the State of Illinois and is a great resource to the local sports community.

Fun Fact: Jessica played for the first women's Division I rugby program in the nation at Eastern Illinois University.
