Anatomic Pathology Service

The Cytology section of the Anatomic Pathology Service processes specimens from a variety of body fluids. The Histology section of the department processes biopsies and other surgical specimens. Special stains and immunohistochemical stains are used to provide accurate diagnosis and to provide ancillary information to aid in patient management. Immediate evaluations of tissue also are performed during surgery to guide the surgeons during the operation.
