Build a Strong Family
Strong families are a result of
- Positive actions,
- Loving words,
- Caring people, and
- Safe homes, day cares, schools and neighborhoods.
Each member of a strong family feels
- Loved,
- Respected, and
- Valued.
Parents can plan and work to build a strong family.
The Search Institute provides an assessment program to help you. They studied strong families and found 40 assets they share. These “assets” are on their webpage: www.searchinstitute.org.
Parent Help Line provides easy-to-read worksheets for many of these assets. Use these worksheets listed below. Put a check by the assets your family already has. One at a time, work on an asset you lack.
