St. John’s Generations program addresses the mental health needs of older adults and provides support to these individuals and their families. A healthcare team, led by a psychiatrist, is involved in each patient's treatment plan. Team members include nurses, psychologists, mental health and addictions counselors, psychotherapists, social workers, an occupational therapist, recreation therapist and other specialists as needed. St. John's Psychiatric Services Department is enriched through its affiliation with the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU) in the Department of Psychiatry and its Department of Medicine, Division of Medicine-Psychiatry. SIU has 150+ full-time faculty physicians offering primary care and a variety of specialized services.
