J. Ricardo Loret de Mola, MD Dr. J. Ricardo Loret de Mola is chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Southern Illinois University, and medical director of St. John’s Women’s Health Programs. He completed a Fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Pennsylvania in 1996, and his residency in obstetrics and gynecology, including a year as chief resident, at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in 1994. He earned his medical degree at the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Monterrey, Mexico in 1988. Dr. Loret de Mola also completed a two-year fellowship at the Association of American Medical College’s Agency for Health Care Research and Quality in 2002 and a two-year research fellowship in pharmacology at CWRU as a scholar of the American Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Foundation in 1998. His clinical interests include the treatment of infertile couples, advanced reproductive surgery and robotic assisted surgery to include conditions such as infertility, endometriosis, fertility preservation and fibroids. Dr. Loret de Mola is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in reproductive endocrinology and infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. His memberships include the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Society for Gynecologic Investigation, Society of Reproductive Surgeons, Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology. He is past President of the Hispano-American Biomedical Association, and has served in several leadership positions in organized medicine with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The author of over 100 scientific publications, scientific presentations and book chapters, Loret de Mola serves on several editorial boards or as a reviewer for various scientific publications including Fertility Today, My Doctor, Fertility and Sterility, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproduction and Human Reproduction. He also serves as an external reviewer for research applications for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He has received research support from the NIH, the Cleveland Research Institute, UTHSCSA and various pharmaceutical companies. |
