Lifeline: For Peace of Mind, Independence, Early Intervention and Reassurance
Lifeline is the name of St. John's Hospital's Personal Emergency Response Service offered though the Third Age Living Department.
Who can benefit?
If you are an older person with physical limitations, in rehabilitation, recently discharged from the hospital or need a little extra help to continue living independently in your home, you may be interested in Lifeline.
How Lifeline works
Whenever you need help, at any time of day or night, simply press a Personal Help Button that is worn as a pendant or on the wrist. Pressing the help button activates a small, in-home speaker connected to your telephone called a communicator. Through the communicator, a caring Lifeline monitor will ask you what kind of help you need. If help is needed, the monitor sends a responder who is usually a family member, friend or neighbor to your home. When appropriate, the monitor will send emergency services.
