Services and Tests
SIU’s Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic diagnoses patients with all varieties of pediatric malignancies, including leukemia, brain tumors, neuroblastoma, Wilms tumor and bone tumors. All patients receive a comprehensive history and physical exam in additional to any necessary radiographic and/or other diagnostic procedure.
Once a diagnosis and complete evaluation is done, every patient is offered treatment through a clinical trial, provided one is available. Trials are available through the Children’s Oncology Group
(COG), a national consortium of pediatric sub-specialists dedicated to the care of children, adolescents and young adults with cancer.
