Meet the St. John's Outreach Team
Kimberly Luz, M.S., C.H.E.S.: “Our educational programs are about more than just teaching a child lessons in good health. They are about helping a child discover their sense of self-respect and unique worth.” Kim received her master's of science from Western Illinois University and is certified as a health education specialist through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. She is is the Director of Community Outreach at HSHS St. John’s Hospital and has been a part of the Outreach Team since March 2007. The most enjoyable part of her job is working with her community to identify ways to improve overall health.
Mary Rogers: “I enjoy working in the community and being part of a team that is allowed the opportunity to make a bigger impact on the health of others, especially children.” Mary has been employed at HSHS St. John’s Hospital for more than 16 years and in the Community Relations Department for more than eight of those years as Event Facilitator. She has helped bring in various celebrities, such as Richard Simmons and Art Smith, to our community to present healthy ways of eating and living to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Mary’s dedication to improving childhood health and wellness is evident in her personal life as well. She was an active member of the Springfield Junior Football League for more than 10 years during which time she held positions of Team Assistant, Secretary, Vice President and President.
Megan Williams, M.S.:“By educating the community, especially children, about healthy behaviors we are empowering them to make healthy decisions in the future.” Megan received her bachelor's of science from the University of Illinois and her master's of science from Western Illinois University. She is the Outreach Facilitator at HSHS St. John’s Hospital and has been a part of the Outreach Team since February 2015. The most enjoyable part of her job is meeting people all throughout the community and helping them lead healthier lives.
