HSHS St. John's Hospital

HSHS St. John’s Hospital is implementing the American Heart Association’s Resuscitation Quality Improvement program (AHA RQI program). This training will help colleagues maintain skill competency and achieve better patient outcomes through more regular, CPR training.

Construction has started on renovations to HSHS St. John’s Cancer Center. Upon completion, it will include an infusion center, medical oncology physician clinics and radiation oncology as well as lab services, all inside the St. John’s Pavilion at 301 N. 8th St. 

HSHS St. John’s Hospital was recognized for its commitment to patient safety and quality with a quality excellence achievement award in the outstanding achievement category from the Illinois Health and Hospital Association’s (IHA) Institute for Innovations in Care and Quality.

Japanese medical professionals recently visited hospitals in the HSHS Central Illinois Division which includes HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur and HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. They also visited the Hospital Sisters Health System office in Springfield.

An emergency flight nurse and a logistics manager based at HSHS St. John’s Hospital are part of an aircraft rescue team that was sent to Texas to provide medical support for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. 

On Wednesday, the annual HSHS St. John’s Hospital Butter Cow was unveiled via cheesecloth. The reveal of the smaller artistic interpretation of the famous Illinois State Fair butter cow is a highly anticipated event at St. John’s and beyond.
