HSHS St. John’s Hospital Provides Red Onesies to Babies During Heart Month

HSHS St. John’s Hospital is recognizing heart month by having the tiniest of patients raise awareness about preventing heart disease. Every baby born at St. John’s in the month of February will receive a red onesie. Three babies arrived on February 1, 2017 at the hospital.
“Almost everyone knows someone who has been affected by heart disease and this is just one way we can raise awareness in the month of February,” said Vernessa Glover, executive director of HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital and Women’s Services. “St. John’s is home to the Prairie Heart Institute and we are committed to the community’s heart health.”
The Prairie Heart Institute at HSHS St. John’s Hospital also provides these healthy living stress management tips to keep your heart strong and healthy.
1. Take deep breaths.
2. Make a to-do list or schedule to help prioritize your day.
3. Get plenty of sleep.
4. Eat healthy.
5. Exercise regularly.
6. Keep a journal. Writing down your feelings helps to get them out.
