On Tuesday, February 27 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. IHOP is celebrating National Pancake Day. The restaurants in Springfield, Decatur, Jacksonville and Greenup will be giving away free short stacks* of IHOP’s original buttermilk pancakes. In return, guests are asked to help make a difference by leaving a donation of any size, on-check or in-restaurant, to HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital.

Vernessa Glover, executive director of HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital, will speak to Springfield High School’s Pre-Health Club about her area of expertise in the health care field and what steps it took her to achieve her role at a children’s hospital.

HSHS St. John’s Hospital is now accepting more health insurance plans in the new year. St. John’s Hospital recently added Current Health Solution and UHC Medicare to the list of insurance plans it accepts. In the coming months, St. John’s will also be adding new Medicaid managed care plans in an effort to continue improving and building on the plans they offer.
