Free GO! 217 Fitness Programs Help Kick off New Year’s Resolutions

To help people kick-start their new year’s resolutions, the first GO! 217 workout will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4 inside Erin’s Pavilion at Southwind Park. Springfield’s own Olympic gold medalist, Ryan Held, will send a video message to inspire participants to commit to their resolutions in 2018. In partnership with FitClub, a special form-focused boot camp will be presented. The event is free and registration is not required. Bring a friend, yoga mat (optional) and drink – hydration is important!

In partnership with County Market, GO! 217 will also hold a free “Healthy Eating through the Aisles: Fitness Edition” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11 at the Veterans Parkway County Market. Special guest Sonya Jones will open the program. The event is open to the public and registration is not required. Meet in the produce aisle.
Free workouts will be held regularly on the first Thursday of each month and nutrition programs will be announced as scheduled. The goal of GO! 217 is to keep our community moving and improve the overall health of everyone who lives in the 217 area code. This program is geared toward the cities where our Hospital Sisters Health System central Illinois hospitals are located – Springfield, Decatur, Litchfield and Shelbyville.
