HSHS St. John's Hospital


HSHS Home Care & Hospice Southern Illinois and HSHS Home Care Central Illinois teamed up to prepare and deliver Baskets of Blessings to their home care and hospice patients.

HSHS St. John’s Hospital received 6,000 FDA-approved plastic face shields from Ford Motor Co. on Tuesday.

At the request of HSHS Illinois (including HSHS St. John’s Hospital and HSHS Medical Group), Memorial Health System, Springfield Clinic and SIU Medicine, Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach will start accepting donations from the community related to COVID-19 supply shortages on Wednesday, March 25 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.  

As COVID-19 cases spike throughout Illinois, the nine Illinois hospitals with HSHS Illinois system and Memorial Health System will no longer allow visitors – with some exceptions.

To help ease the impact COVID-19 has on the local blood supply, HSHS St. John’s Hospital is holding a blood drive for its colleagues on campus on Friday, March 20 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.


Memorial Medical Center and HSHS St. John’s Hospital on Tuesday morning began screening emergency department patients for COVID-19 symptoms in a triage area near the emergency department entrances.
