Restricted Visitor Policy

With the spike in novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, HSHS St. John's Hospital will no longer allow visitors, except under special circumstances, effective Saturday, March 21 at 7 a.m.

Family members and loved ones should provide nursing staff with their contact information and may call 217-544-6464  to check on their loved ones.

The exceptions to this policy are:
•    Patients nearing the end-of-life may have one support person.
•    Obstetrical patients may have one support person who must be the same individual throughout the stay.
•    Pediatric inpatients under the age of 18 may have one parent or guardian present.
•    Patients seeking emergency services, or those having surgery, or any outpatient procedure with anesthesia, may have one support person who may not be under the age of 18, unless he/she is the parent.
•    Those reporting for outpatient services should ask their support person to wait in the car until testing is complete.

The only entrances open to these visitors will be the main lobby, women and children’s center and the emergency department.

Thank you for your help in keeping our patients, colleagues and community safe.
