On the evening of 12/15 and morning of 12/16, we will be performing required maintenance to our website.  The website will have periods of inaccessibility between the hours of 9pm and 6am.

The goal of GO! 217 is to keep our community moving. We want to improve the overall health of everyone who lives in the 217 area code!

This program is geared toward the cities where our Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) central Illinois hospitals are
located—Springfield/HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Decatur/HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital, Litchfield/HSHS St. Francis Hospital and Shelbyville/HSHS Good Shepherd.

Obesity is an identified health need in many areas of central Illinois that can result in chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. As hospitals serving the health needs of our central Illinois community, we must do our part to educate people about the preventive steps they can take to improve their overall health. Diet, exercise and education are key.

We are very grateful for our community partners with GO! 217, including the Springfield Park District, FitClub, SCHEELS and FIT-to-GO in Litchfield. Together we are all committed to helping our 217 communities improve their health and wellness through GO! 217. We are excited to offer this free program across central Illinois!
What does GO! 217 entail?
  1. You can attend GO! 217 community workouts each month in our participating central Illinois cities (Springfield, Decatur, Litchfield and Shelbyville). Events are indoors during the winter and outdoors in the warmer months. Check the schedule online for the time and location nearest you.
  2. You will receive frequent fitness and diet tips from athletic trainers and dietitians via email and social media.
  3. You have the opportunity to attend other health and wellness events based on interest in Springfield, Decatur, Litchfield and Shelbyville. We welcome any ideas.
