Rehabilitation and Exercises
Physical therapy helps strengthen the muscles around your knee or hip, allowing you to become more independent. It is very important to undergo physical therapy the first few days after surgery when you will be re-learning how to perform all your daily living tasks. Research shows the more active and motivated you are during therapy, the faster your recovery process will be. While at St. John’s total joint patients learn and perform a number of exercises under the supervision of rehabilitation therapists.
